GBC’s Tutoring and Learning Centre offers free and accessible tutoring for all GBC students. They will help you learn how to address questions you have about your assignments and citations. Yes! Our photocopying machines accept coins and you can pay cash for printing at the Library Help Desk. When paying cash at the Help Desk you will be asked for your student ID number, this is because GBC students receive slightly cheaper rates.

I need to set up my WIFI connection. How do I do it?
Specific instructions for setting up your WIFI connection can be found here.
Please be aware that you will need to have your student ID number and your STU VIEW password in order to log on to the wireless service. Also, please be aware that the process for setting up the wireless is dependent on your operating system, so please click on the appropriate link: XP, Vista, Windows, Mac.

Yes, you can print from your laptop.

I have to fill out my OSAP form. Can I get help at the Library?
Feel free to use our computers for online submissions of your OSAP. Library staff are not trained to assist you in this area, but advice is available at GBC’s Financial Aid Centre. For further information please contact the Financial Assistance Office at (416) 415-5000 x 2476
I have to do a pre-admission assessment course. Where do I do it?

I have to study for an English/Math assessment course. Do you have any materials or sample tests?
No, the library does not have these types of resources. However, the Assessment Centre does provide test examples, sample questions, helpful websites and additional resources on their website.
Do the Library computers have the software I use in class?
Each campus has software specific to the classes taught at each campus location. The staff at the Library Help Desk can tell you which computer stations have the software you are looking for. Please email llc@georgebrown.ca for details.

Can I download software onto a computer?
No, only a Library administrator can download software to the Open Access Computers.

No, library reserves are for use in the library only.

How do I get my STU VIEW password?
Your password will be sent to you in a letter after you have been accepted to George Brown College. If you have forgotten your password or if you never received a password in the mail, please call the Contact Centre at 416-415-5000 ext. 2000, visit a Student Service Centre, or ask staff at the Library Help Desk for assistance. Please consult the Logging In Instructions if you need help or would like to change your password.

Contact Technical Support by filling out the Student Help Form and submitting it online. Please make sure to include a detailed description of the problem as well as your contact information.
Does the LLC have pronunciation software?
Yes, we do! The LLC has the following CD-ROM based products, designed to help English language learners improve their listening, comprehension, to correct their pronunciation, and to reduce their accents: Focus on Grammar, Pronunciation Power, and Ellis Pronunciation.
These programs are available in both campus LLC Teaching and Learning Centres, a quiet study room at Casa Loma and 2 Adaptive Technology Rooms at St James. To access these programs, students will need to book use of the room at the Library Circulation Desk- students are able to use the software in one hour time blocks. Desk top microphones will be provided. Students must provide their own headphones.
