George Brown College’s Library Learning Commons (LLC) provides services to help you with your studies and research.

Use the menus on the left side of this page to locate information on the services you need. For questions regarding any of these services or for assistance, please ask a librarian.

 

Frequently requested:

• Library Cards: A valid library card must be presented in order to take materials out of the library and to use many other library services. Check out this section for more information on your status and privileges.
• Off-Campus Access: Many of GBC's library resources are available from outside the college, using Off-Campus Access. A library login and PIN are required for this access.
   
•  WiFi / Wireless Printing: George Brown College provides wireless internet access and wireless printing throughout various parts of our campuses including the libraries.
   
• Computers: Each library has a network of computers available to you for academic research, including the use of program specific software (such as AutoCAD), online and CD-ROM databases, web-based resources, and the internet.
•  AV Equipment (including laptops) : GBC students can borrow AV equipment from LLC:  Projectors, Digital Cameras, Voice Recorders, Presentation Pointers, Mice, Portable DVD players and Laptops 
   
• Captioned Media & E-Text: Assistance is available to all members of the College community using audio-visual resources for instructional purposes, college-wide events or websites to facilitate the closed captioning of the material. 
• Accessible Library Services: The Library Learning Commons offers services that enable library users who have a disability or are Deaf, deafened and hard of hearing to access library services and resources effectively.
   
• Copyright: George Brown College's Copyright Services is here to assist students and faculty by addressing questions of copyright that commonly arise in the College community. 
• For Faculty: The GBC LLC provides library and research services to faculty and staff to meet their teaching and curriculum development needs.
